Westminster is a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The OPC came into existence in the mid-1930's when the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America failed to uphold its doctrinal standards against the inroads of theological liberalism. Foreseeing the decline of their beloved Church, a number of congregations chose to withdraw and form a new Church - one that would be committed to the preservation and propagation of historic Presbyterianism, and to the richness of the Reformed faith.Our history as a congregation goes back to the 1940's. Over the years, we have been blessed and built up through the faithful labors of many godly ministers, such as Rev. Edmund Clowney, Rev. Lawrence Eyres, and others. God has indeed blessed us, and we humbly look forward to His continued favor as we enter upon a new millennium of serving Christ in the Chicago-land area.Our heartfelt prayer is that the Lord might be pleased to bless the world through us, His covenant people.
