God's Character
God is
the Creator and sustainer of everything, and worthy of man's obedience and
grateful praise. He is holy and perfect, and cannot tolerate any form of
sin.
Man's Character
Man was
created by God with the ability to do both good and evil. But man has fallen
in sin, and now delights not in God, but in himself. He is devoted to the
pursuit of serving himself.
God's Requirement
Because
God is perfect in His holiness and cannot look upon sin, and man is sinful
by nature, the two have no fellowship with each other. Man is alientated
from His Creator.
Man's Need
God is
not dependant on any creature and has no need of man. But man, as God's
enemy, needs to acquire righteousness in order to be restored to God's
presence and favor.
God's Provision
God has
bridged this gap. Christ's death as a substitute has satisfied the wrath of
God toward sinners. God now gives the righteousness of Jesus as a gift to
all who trust in Him.
God's Call
God
calls men and women everywhere to repent and believe the good news. All must
place their trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sin and reconciliation
with God.
